WATER – RESIDENTIAL, LIGHT COMMERCIAL

Depth style water filters are designed to remove particulate from water streams of various flow rates. When compared to pleated filters which use surface filtration (i.e. direct interception) to capture particulate, depth filters capture particulate throughout the filter media, not just on it’s surface. This is done using filtration concepts like bridging, impaction and diffusion interception. The result is a filter with lower overall dirt holding capacity, but at a much more economical price point, which makes depth filtration appropriate for a wider range of applications. Depth filters can handle slightly higher temperatures than typical pleated filters (up to 80°C), which makes them appropriate for selected industrial or heavy commercial applications.
