Compressed air and gas is a widely used power source for a variety of industrial applications – often referred to as the 4th utility. Regardless of the application, any air compressor must provide clean, oil-free air or gas to reduce maintenance cost and optimize performance. This cannot be achieved without filtration. Contaminants enter the compressed air system through the atmosphere, from coolant, lubricant and from the condensation of air in the system. All must be properly dealt with to ensure efficient operation, and filtration is an effective and critical function of any properly functioning compressed air system.
